Dog Safety Lights Compared

How do you decide which safety light is the best one for you and your dogs? We've been putting our lights through their paces for a few months now and here's what we've found.
Choosing a safety light for your dog doesn't have to be tricky, it just requires a little bit of research and knowing what would work best for you.
Here in the shop we stock three safety lights for dogs.

Ruffwear Beacon £33.95
Orbiloc Dog Dual £22.99
First we need to look at budget - although this isn't a linear process. The cheapest option might not actually be suitable for you so make sure it does what you need first or it could end up costing you more money to replace in the long run!
I have personally tested all of these lights and it's actually hard to choose a favourite. But if you twisted my arm, I'd tell you that the Ruffwear Beacon is probably the best all-rounder.
Here's how I decide which light to use:
1 - My dog : He's a working cocker and is basically semi- aquatic. So for him, I need something which is ok being submerged. Any chance this guy gets to swim, he's going to take. He's also low to the ground and likes going under bushes and trees so it needs to be really securely attached to his harness. He's dark brown so I also want something highly visible.
So, for me, the Ruffwear Beacon and the Orbiloc are the best - they are both submersible and have very secure attachments. Then it would come down to budget and whether I want rechargable or to replace batteries.
I actually use both! I have a Beacon on his Canicross harness and an Orbiloc on his everyday harness. Both are exceptional products and meet our needs perfectly.
